Once the Book Fair closes Friday evening, Mr. Taranto will be hosting a Family Movie Night in the cafeteria! More info on the movie will follow, but it will start around 6PM and we invite you to bring your blankies and sleeping bags to enjoy a family movie with your principal.

Here you can do so many things: View dates and times for the event, check out Featured books in advance, make a student wish list, and much, much more!

Our goal this year is a modest $15,000 in book sales. All the proceeds from the fair directly benefit Alta Vista Elementary. The library will earn between 25-50% of book sales in books, supplies, and cash. Your support is greatly appreciated and we look forward to a successful Fair!

This is a School sponsored event supported by PTA volunteers. THIS SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 16th, we are having an Apple Harvest Festival at our school -- The Alta Vista Elementary School -- from 1:00 - 4:00 PM. Our school is located at 815 Knob Hill Avenue in Redondo Beach, on the corner of Knob Hill and Prospect. Please open the flyer for more details. It should be a lot of fun for both the kids and adults. We are also selling the new PRO-GREEN stainless steel water bottles at a cost much less than retail -- some with the Alta Vista wildcat logo too! Arrive early, we only have supplies of 100 or less on hand of the good stuff. Tell a friend or neighbor and come join in the fun!

ALSO: We are kindly asking for any and all volunteers to help set up any time from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. AND to help clean up from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Anyone who can work the Ticket Tables, Kids Games, and Sales Booths are asked to contact Robyn Solimando at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .
