AVPTA’s programs play a crucial role in enriching education. AVPTA provides financial support for extracurricular activities and field trips, offering students a well-rounded and engaging educational experience.

Hands on Art

Hands On Art provides a rich and stimulating opportunity to experience art in different and exciting ways, and experience the joy and magic of art in a non-judgmental, non-threatening environment. Hands on Art encourages creativity and self-expression through a variety of hands-on activities like painting, drawing, music, and drama. Through six projects, students explore different artistic techniques, build confidence in their abilities, and gain a deeper appreciation for the arts while developing important skills such as problem-solving and collaboration.

Garden & Nutrition

Garden & Nutrition program is a hands-on, educational initiative where kids plant, tend to, and harvest a variety of fruits, vegetables, and flowers, all while developing important skills in teamwork, responsibility, and sustainability. The garden also seres as an outdoor classroom where students explore concepts like science, nutrition, and ecology in a fun and interactive way. By growing their own plants, students gain a deeper appreciation for where their food comes from and the importance of caring for the planet.

Run Club

Run Club is a fun and energetic program designed to encourage fitness, teamwork, and a love of running among our Wildcats. Run Club fosters a sense of accomplishment while promoting healthy habits and positive attitude towards physical activity. it’s a great way for students to build endurance, make new friends, and have fun while staying active! Fun fact - our teachers say that their classes are more calm and attentive on Run Club days!!

Battle of the Books

Battle of the Books is a reading incentive program for students in 3rd thru 12th grades. Students read books and come together, usually in groups, to demonstrate their abilities and to test their knowledge of the books they have read.

Reflections

Reflections encourages students of all ages to unleash creative talents and be inspired, express themselves imaginatively in their artwork, experience the fun and joy of making art, tap into critical thinking skills to create art inspired by the annual theme, and receive positive recognition for their original works of art.

Lego Explorers Club

FIRST® LEGO® League guides youth through STEM learning and exploration at an early age. From Discover, to Explore, and then to Challenge, students will understand the basics of STEM and apply their skills in an exciting competition while building habits of learning, confidence, and teamwork skills along the way.

Book Fair

Our annual Book Fair encourages a passion for reading while supporting our community. For one full week, our Wildcats are able to experience and shop the Book Fair which inspires a love of reading, teaches kids about financial transactions and taxes, all while supporting our school.

School Assemblies

Every year, AVPTA sources and funds two assemblies to the entire school to experience. From Taiko to BMX and even a mobile dairy, these assemblies are loved by our Wildcats and open their world to new experiences.

Grade Level Assemblies

Every grade level has it’s own dedicated assembly of their choice. From mobile zoos and aquariums, to science experiments and magic, grade level assemblies appropriately align with their curriculum reenforcing what our Wildcats are learning in the classroom and enriching their educational experience.
